Statement of Purpose

The Young Women's Christian Council (YWCC) exists to fulfill three major functions within the Church of God in Christ (COGIC).  First, to get young women into the work of God, apply those Bible truths to their lives, thereby enabling them to live victoriously through Christ.  We receive this mandate with praise and thanksgiving as it will afford us the opportunity to be that "living epistle, read of men" being empowered by the Holy Spirit to impact lives in our home, our communities and our churches.

Secondly, to promote Christian fellowship which does not encompass just eating and socializing together, but sharing in a partnership with each other in Christ.  As we are partners in life and work of Christ, we acknowledge the need to share our lives with one another on a personal level.

Thirdly, to instruct, develop and assist young women in outreach and evangelism, as we are committed to active ministry both internally and externally for the sanctifying, unifying and edifying of the Body of Christ to the Glory of God.

Credo of the YWCC

Our Proverb: "Many daughters have done virtuously but thou excellest all.  Favor is deceitful, beauty is

vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised."  Proverb 31:29-30

Our Scripture: "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in

conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."  I Timothy 4:12
